How do I review AI edits to a CSV file?
Flashtype shows a CSV file as a table. Claude Code or Codex edits the same file. Flashtype marks each change: added rows, removed rows, and changed cells.
- Plain CSV. Flashtype does not convert the file.
- Typed columns. Text, select, checkbox, date, number, email, and URL.
- Filters and views. Filter, sort, and save named views.
- Version control. Every change is recorded. No Git.
Flashtype vs spreadsheet apps
Use a spreadsheet app for formulas and charts. Use Flashtype for CSV files that must stay plain.

FAQ
- What is a good CSV editor for Mac?
- Flashtype is a free CSV editor for Mac. It opens CSV files as tables with filters and saved views, and it saves plain CSV. Claude Code and Codex can edit the data. You review each changed cell.
- Does opening a file in Flashtype change it?
- No. The file changes only when you or an agent edits it. Column types and views are stored in version control, not in the CSV file.
- Can I compare two versions of a CSV file?
- Yes, for versions of the same file. Flashtype shows added rows, removed rows, and changed cells. To compare two different files, use a CSV diff tool.
