Can Claude Code edit Excalidraw diagrams?
Yes. An .excalidraw file is JSON, and Claude Code can edit JSON. In Flashtype, the agent edits the file beside you. You see the before and after side by side.
- Full editor. You can also draw yourself. No plugin to install.
- Next to your docs. Diagrams and Markdown stay in one folder.
- Before and after. Keep or undo each agent change.
- Version control. Every change is recorded. No Git.

FAQ
- Is there an Excalidraw app for Mac?
- Yes. Flashtype is a free Mac app with a full Excalidraw editor for .excalidraw files. The official editor, excalidraw.com, runs in a browser.
- Can I use Excalidraw offline?
- Yes. Flashtype opens and edits local .excalidraw files without an internet connection. AI agents need a connection to their provider.
- How is Flashtype different from the Obsidian Excalidraw plugin?
- Flashtype has Excalidraw built in. You do not install a plugin. It also shows agent edits as a before and after. Choose Obsidian if you need linked notes and a graph view.
